North American Universities Show Strongest International Online Popularity in 2010 World University Web Rankings, Says 4icu.org
(PRWEB) January 18, 2010 -- For 2010, 4 International Colleges and Universities reports that North American Universities’ websites are the most popular in the world in terms of online international presence and popularity, with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) leading the way.
Of the top 200 most popular university websites, 88 belong to North American higher education organizations (44 percent), according to results from the latest release of the 2010 World University Web Rankings.
Following top ranking MIT, Stanford comes in as the second most popular university website in the world, followed by Harvard University, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and the University of California, Berkeley to round out the top five positions.
Of all non-North American higher education organizations, Peking University (China) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China) are the only two listed in the top ten of the results.
Of the top 200 university websites by continent, Europe comes second with 59 higher education organizations (30 per cent) , followed by Asia with 34 (17 per cent), Latin America with 12 (6 per cent), Oceania with 6 (3 per cent) and Africa with only 1.
